Cath (Anita Dobson) is the owner of "'Teasers", a hairdressing salon.
Although she's a successful businesswoman and is reasonably happy with her life, she's under pressure from her overbearing mother, who wants her to settle down and get married.
She becomes engaged to wealthy American businessman, Clint (Harry Ditson) but the engagement is broken off when she also becomes attracted to hair sylist David (Peter Blake).
