Mildred has a visit from a G.I. she knew during the war. George decides that two can play at that game, so he consults his "little black book".

George is forced to look for a job.

Ann Fourmile has a baby and George and Mildred rally round to help out.

George's father is thrown out of the old people's home where he's been living. He wants to stay with George and Mildred.
