1: That'll Be The Day (7 Jan 91)
Alec has now been with Zoe for a year, so he decides that it's time he proposed. Zoe seems less than enthusiastic about the idea of marriage. Miss Flood buys flowers to commemorate the anniversary of Buddy Holly's death.

2: The Look Of Love (14 Jan 91)
Alec sells his house, so he and Zoe are looking for a new home. Jamie comes to stay. Miss Flood goes off to look after her mother, leaving Hilary in charge of the office.

3: Too Close For Comfort (21 Jan 91)
Alec and Zoe buy a house near the vicarage where Simone lives. A cowboy builder causes problems. Jamie seems to be getting too closely involved with one of his clients.

Zoe is hoping for promotion at work. She and Alec seem to have become obsessed with games. Miss Flood's nephew turns up in Pinner and becomes a distraction for Hilary.

Alec's French brother-in-law is planning to visit Pinner. Zoe worries about unfavourable comparisons between her and Alec's late wife. Jamie is finding work at the office too boring and is thinking of finding another job.

6: Feelings (18 Feb 91)
Jamie isn't performing well at work and Alec is thinking of sacking him. Then Jamie has to go into hospital for an operation and Alec realises why his work has been so poor recently. Hilary discovers that Miss Flood has a new man in her life.

7: I Guess I'll Have To Change My Plans (25 Feb 91)
Zoe tells Alec that she's pregnant. Alec doesn't seem to be surprised. Jamie is staying with Alec and Zoe while he's recovering from his operation. He decides that he's getting too fond of Zoe. He pretends that it's Hilary he's interested in. Alec has a heart-to-heart with Hilary about her effect on men. She gets the wrong idea and so does Miss Flood. Hilary and Anthony shock Miss Flood by announcing their engagement. With Jamie's help, Zoe finally manages to spring a surprise on Alec.
